Annoucement of a CECAM Workshop in October 1st-3rd 2007:

"Chirality and Molecular Recognition at Surfaces" (Chir@Surf).

Usually, CECAM workshops have around 30-40 participants where a fair number of students and postdocs complements the group of senior researchers.

This workshop will be devoted to current experimental and theoretical aspects of chirality in asymmetric heterogeneous catalysis. Two small sessions devoted to asymmetric homogeneous catalysis and, more generally, to molecular recognition at surfaces and selectivity, will also be organised. Therefore several lectures given by selected high-caliber researchers are included in the program. The detailed list of the invited speakers is the following one:

•Pr Gary Attard, Cardiff, UK
•Dr Conrad Becker, Bonn, Germany
•Dr Thomas Bürgi, Neuchatel, Switzerland
•Dr Sylvain Cristol, Lille, France
•Dr Bjork Hammer, Aarhus, Denmark
•Dr Antonius P. J. Jansen, Eindhoven, The Netherlands
•Dr Stephen Jenkins, Cambridge, UK
•Pr Marc Lemaire, Villeurbanne, France
•Dr Trolle Linderoth, Aarhus, Denmark
•Dr Laurent Piccolo, Villeurbanne, France
•Pr Rasmita Raval, Liverpool, UK
•Pr David Sholl, Pittsburg, USA
•Pr Walter Thiel, Mulheim, Germany
•Dr Angelo Vargas, Zurich, Switzerland
•Pr Francisco Zaera, Riverside, USA

The workshop will take place on October 1st-3rd 2007 at CECAM in Lyon (France) and it will last 3 days. CECAM is located in the campus of the Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon (Lyon, France). For more information, please visit the CECAM and ENS Lyon websites:

or download here a document containing practical information about the travel, maps, registration, and so on...

As usual, there will be no registration fee, neither for the invited speakers, nor for all the other registered scientists (including students and postdocs).

The final programme is exposed in the timetable hereafter and can be downloaded here.
