Directions to the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon

The Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon is located in Gerland, a neighborhood in the southern part of Lyon, not far from the Rhône river and the Halle Tony Garnier, the former cattle market and a very large free-standing structure. The closest metro stations are Debourg and Stade de Gerland. From the distance, two ventilation pipes on the roof make the main building look like a longliner. Entrance is located under the second arch on Allée d’Italie, just behind a circular roundabout paved with cobblestones with a fountain surrounded by old trees. Proceed to the front desk (‘accueil’) for access and have you visitor paged; all exits are normally closed to the public.

How to get to l'ENS-Lyon ...

• From Lyon-Saint Exupéry (Satolas) airport Every 20 min, a bus shuttle connects the airport and the Part-Dieu and Perrache train station.

• From the Lyon Part-Dieu train station Exit Sortie Vivier Merle, get on the Métro ligne B, towards Stade de Gerland, get off at either stop Debourg or Stade de Gerland.

• From the Lyon Perrache train station (less convenient) Exit "terminus des bus", get on bus 32, towards Etats-Unis/Viviani, get off the bus at the stop 'Halle Tony Garnier'.
