I am a CNRS researcher in theoretical physics.
I work at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (France),
in the laboratoire de Physique (UMR CNRS 5672).
My work focuses on topological properties of electrons in solids and
analogs in artificial systems such as photonic lattices.
Topological phases in solids are remarkable states of matter which
exhibit striking properties.
In such phases, materials are band insulators in their bulk, but develop robust exotic metallic
states at their boundaries. The quantum Hall effect, discovered in 1980, constitutes the historical
example of such phases. My current research aims at characterizing novel topological phases in
dynamical / out-of-equilibrium systems with a special focus on periodically driven systems.
