  • 1997: PhD in geophysics (IPGP - University Paris-Diderot). Defended on Jan 10th, 1997. Subject : the thermal evolution of the Earth. Advisors: Jean-Paul Poirier and Christophe Sotin.
  • 1997-1998: Nationnal duty as technical staff for the geodetic observatory of Tahiti. Employed by CNES and operating a NASA SLR station. Supervisor: Alain Bonneville.
  • 1998-2006: Associate professor (maître de conférence) at IPGP.
  • 2006-: Professor at ENS Lyon

  • 2002-2006: Laurent Pouilloux (co-supervised by Ed. Kaminski) on anisotropic rheology in the mantle and its effect on convection.
  • 2004-2008: Laura Milelli on core formation in planetesimals.
  • 2008-2012: Martina Ulvrova (in collaboration with Nicolas Coltice) on convection interacting with a melting/freezing front.
  • 2009-2014 : Marine Lasbleis (in collaboration with John Hernlund and Renaud Deguen) on the dynamics of the inner core.
  • 2013- : Mathieu Bouffard (in collaboration with Gaël Choblet) on the dynamics of planetary cores and oceans.
