About us

Introduction

Our team has two successive tasks. First of all, we need to lay the groundwork to get a grasp of image and video processing. To that end, we will review a number of techniques for sign recognition and classification. We have already started our review, as it is necessary for the proposal. Then at the same time, we will look for a programming language adaptable enough to allow interactions between several images and video processing libraries. We have to find a library that is fast enough to allow video processing in reasonable time, especially in demanding tasks such as to read a video file, to process videos, to extract and to do complex processing on images. All in all, we must ensure that we have tested all available options and pick the most suitable for our endeaviour. By the time we will have completed all the aforementioned tasks, we will know the work that needs to be done, and especially will we be able to decide on whether to work on the whole recognition process or just on some critical modules. Our main priority then would be to build a quick prototype to test our conjectures and resolve dependencies of other modules.
