Clément de Sagazan

clement_de_sagazan
I am a Postdoc researcher working with Chloé Michaut at ENS Lyon since June 2026. My research mostly focuses on studying magmatic processes (magma reservoir mechanics, dyke propagation through a lithsophere) using numerical models. During my PhD at Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris, I studied the architecture and dynamics of the newly emplaced Fani Maoré volcano, offshore Mayotte island.

Currently, I am developing numerical models of Mercury's temperature and stress evolution. My goal is to assess to what extent the cooling-induced stress field on Mercury can explain the strong decrease of volcanism on the planet since ~3.5-4 Ga.
