I\u2019m associate professor of philosophy of science at the ENS de Lyon<\/a>, co-responsible of the master LHPST at ENS de Lyon<\/a>, a member of IHRIM UMR5317<\/a> and a member of the executive commitee of IXXI, Complex Systems institute of the region Rh\u00f4nes-Alpes<\/a>. Trained as a physicist at the University of Bologna, I hold a PhD from the University Paris Diderot\u00a0 on the epistemology of deterministic chaos. I currently work on morphogenesis and dynamical systems, on morphology and analogy, on the figure of landscape between biology and physics, and on the relations between models of complex systems and design. I\u2019ve lectured at ECNU – Shanghai (PROSFER programme 2013), the Ecole Nationale Sup\u00e9rieure des Arts D\u00e9coratifs\u00a0 – Paris (2007-2014), the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL – London (2015 and 2016), and the University Iuav – Venezia (invited professor 2016 and 2017). During my CNRS research leave in 2022 I\u2019ve obtained a CNRS mobility to Oxford \u2013 Maison Fran\u00e7aise d\u2019Oxford<\/a> on a project about the transcendental in modelling practices. I’m currently a member of the organising committee of the international conference Thinking Complexity. 20 years at IXXI<\/strong><\/a>, November 4th-6th 2026.\u00a0 In 2024 I’ve been co-organiser, with Olivier Gandrillon and Sophie Pantalacci, of the international workshop : Like a rolling marble. Waddington\u2019s landscape vibrant legacy and beyond <\/strong><\/a>. ENS de Lyon, November 7th-8th 2024. I also worked, with Patrice Abry, on the project Arts & Sciences Exp\u00e9rience<\/strong><\/a> at IXXI.<\/header>\n
