A PHYSICA D SPECIAL ISSUE dedicated to the 60th
birthday Symposium in honor of Serge Aubry will be published.
Special Issue Editor: T. Lehman
Guest Editors: T. Dauxois, R. S. MacKay,
G. P. Tsironis
Deadline
for submitting manuscripts: June 30, 2005
Tentative date for publication
of the Physica D special issue: March 2006
GUIDELINES for this PHYSICA
D Special Issue
- Standards for publication
in Physica D will generally be higher than for presentation of a paper at
a meeting. The standards of Physica
D must be respected as much in the preparation of special issues as in normal
editorial work.
- Physica
D aims to publish papers that develop new nonlinear phenomena. Papers
that merely extend existing arguments and techniques in a familiar direction
are seldom sufficiently novel.
- Research papers and
review papers are
welcome but not short communications.
- Manuscripts should
conform to the Physica D journal format. See the “Instructions to Authors”
in each issue, or on the internet at www.elsevier.com/locate/physd.
- In the interest of
prompt publication, authors will have no second chance to revise, with the
possible exception, at the discretion of the guest editor, of small changes
that do not require the author to rethink any of the manuscript's major arguments.
Such changes must be made in a few days.
SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
The manuscripts should be submitted by June
30, 2005.
The complete article
should be sent by email in a pdf format
to Maria Mataliotaki (auvol@physics.uoc.gr)
and a carbon copy (CC) to G. P. Tsironis (gts@physics.uoc.gr). If the authors
do not receive a receipt acknowledgement within a week from the submission,
they should inquire with the volume editors.
After the referee
process is ended (presumably October 2005), the authors will have to upload
their article in the Physica D webpage. Specific instructions will be given
at that point.
