A New Type of Quantum Criticality in the Pyrochlore Iridates

In this paper (arXiv and PRX), we show the existence of a quantum critical point in the rare-earth iridates family of compounds. The transition we describe is between a quadratic band touching non-Fermi liquid semimetal and a Weyl semimetal with all-in-all-out magnetic order.

Facts and FAQs

  • The calculation reported here strongly differs from a traditional RG calculation.
