Short bio

Dr. Jean-Patrick Gelas received his graduate degree (DEA) in Computer Science at Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (ENS Lyon, France) in 2000. Awarded a national grant from the French Ministry of Research and Technology (MENRT), he pursued his doctorate research/work in the RESO/INRIA team of the LIP laboratory at ENS Lyon. In December 2003, he received his Ph.D. degree from Universite Claude Bernard - Lyon 1 (France). He spent the next year in the United States, holding a postdoctoral (Research Associate) position in the Logistical Computing and Internetworking (LoCI) Laboratory of Computer Science Department at University of Tennessee.

He is currently Assistant Professor, teaching computer science and computer networks in the Université de Lyon and doing his research work in ENS Lyon (INRIA RESO Team/LIP laboratory). The research interest of Dr. Jean-Patrick Gelas centers on next generation networks (such as Logistical Networks and Autonomic system). He has also strong interest in virtualization and energy aware system in the Grid Computing context. He has worked on value-added network services (storage and processing), heterogeneous networks and terminals, and open source operating systems.
