As in 2023, I organized NeurIPS@Paris 2024 2024. Its primary goal is to offer a human-scale environment and a low-CO₂-emission alternative to NeurIPS. Authors of accepted NeurIPS 2023 papers are given the opportunity to present their work through a short oral presentation and a poster session.
This year, I focused more on the logistics of the poster session and on securing financial support from our sponsors. Once again, the event reached full capacity. These kinds of local gatherings are also spreading across Europe, notably through ELLIS events. It’s interesting to consider whether this might eventually change the way we think about machine learning conferences!
